Research Technicians
Current Position: Medical Student at the University of Indiana Indianapolis Campus
Omar Almakki was a research technician in the Diver Lab from January 2022 - July 2023. Omar graduated from the University of Chicago in 2021 with majors in Biology and Theater and Performance Studies, and is originally from West Lafayette, Indiana. Omar is currently furthering his studies by going to medical school at Indiana University’s Indianapolis campus.
Undergraduates
Current Position: Doctoral Candidate at the University of Pennsylvania
Kate Enquist was a participant in the MSK Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) in the summer of 2023. She is interested in the molecular pathways responsible for neurologic diseases and cancer, with an emphasis on the implications of protein structure and function. She also aimed to gain exposure to the drug development process, specifically investigating drug-protein interactions, drug ADME properties and drug metabolism. Outside of research, she enjoys weightlifting, swimming, and cooking! Kate completed her undergraduate degree at Vassar College. She is currently a doctoral study of Pharmacology at the University of Pennsylvania.
Current Position: Undergraduate Student at the University of Chicago
Joshua spent the summer following his freshman year of college as an undergraduate researcher in the Diver lab. Josh is born and raised in New York City and is currently studying biology and chemistry at the University of Chicago. Outside of the lab, Josh enjoys working out, playing baseball, and exploring central park.
Postbaccalaureates
Current Position: MD-PhD Candidate at the University of Conneticut
Nataniel is a graduate of the MSK Bridge postbaccalaureate program (May 2023 - July 2025). He grew up in Puerto Rico and later moved to New York in order to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Bard College. He is interested in elucidating ways to specifically target biochemical mechanisms that are activated in human disease. During his free time, he likes to spend time with friends, go outside to enjoy nature and exercise. Nataniel is currently an MD-PhD Program candidate at the University of Conneticut.
